Not to beat this topic into the ground, but bottles are on the shelf, and the tap takeover at the Constant Spring has been officially set for this Friday. It sounds like it will be more of a casual event, rather than something with lots of fanfare. They have Shoal’s Pale Ale, Finest Kind IPA, Old Brown Dog, and Robust Porter in house. Three of these will be featured on the three tap tower, and the remaining beer will replace the first tap that blows.
Last night, Chalet Party Shoppe hosted a tasting, and at least one Hop Notes reader showed up while I was there. Thanks for coming out a supporting the local people that bring great craft beer to Michiana.
Let me also take a moment to say here that this is my 1,000 post! I thought that this was a milestone worth noting and many thanks to everyone that reads Hop Notes. I appreciate all of the comments that I get, and I really enjoy meeting you around Michiana. Some of you may know that Hop Notes began as an email that I sent out to a few buddies who I knew enjoyed beer and were interested in little beer tidbits that I picked up here and there. I called this email Beer Bits until my brother-in-law suggested Beer Nuts.
I hope that you will join me at Iechyd Da Brewing Company on Saturday July 13 for a celebration of Hop Notes. There will be some trivia with prizes and Chip Lewis, owner/brewer, and I brewed an imperial brown ale just for the occasion. And as always, feel free to drop me a line at Eric@EricStraderPottery.com
