On this Election Day, you can vote for the United States president and a bunch of state and local offices.
You should go vote. You just should. On Election Day, it’s like eating. Given the opportunity, you need to do it.
And today, you can raise of beer, wine or liquor while the election is happening in Indiana. It wasn’t always that way, but there aren’t restrictions anymore.
Bars can be open before the polls close now. They are in Elkhart County.
And after the polls close, the Elkhart County Young Republicans are gathering at Antonio’s Italian Restaurant, 1100 Goshen Ave., Elkhart. Owner Paul Cataldo plans to put out red and blue cupcakes cookies and let those in the restaurant around dinner time vote by picking a color.
I predict that it’ll be red in a rout.
Antonio’s will also offer a red, white and blue “Patriot Martini” for $5.
Bartenders will layer Chambord, blue vodka and Triple Sec in a glass. I tasted one the other night and it had better flavor after it was stirred, but was then a gray martini, which is a lot less fun.
I’m just not a fan of flavored vodka. Did the world really need marshmallow vodka?
But this is a fun election night drink. And depending on your political leanings and how the results come in nationally, it may be a night for raising a glass. Or three. Just be responsible if you have to drive.
In the newsroom, there will be pizza as we work to feed eTruth.com and put out the election night newspaper.
I think there has been pizza in The Elkhart Truth newsroom for decades. And there will likely be some left tomorrow morning. Yes, I have been known to eat cold election night pizza the morning after.
The only will question is where will we get the pizza from?
Oh, did I mention that you should go vote? You really should.

So many great pizzas in Elkhart but only one that tastes as good cold as hot! Guess which one?!!
I’m guessing you mean Volcano. Not sure it’s the only one that’s good cold, but it’s particularly good cold.
